For those of you who are artistically inclined...
Janine Ashbless, one of my all time favourite erotica authors, is having a cover art competition for her new e-book Heart of Flame. If you've always wanted to see your art gracing the cover of a sexy book, then this is your chance.
You can find all the details and technical information "HERE" on Janine's blog.

Something Quick and Silly
Honestly, I have *no* idea what this is, but I find it ridiculously funny. The world needs more happy Belgian penis cartoons.

Japanese Netsukes
On a recent trip to Las Vegas, Mr Wintersinger and I stumbled across the most amazing little antique shop in one of the Strip's fancier hotels. It was full of the most wonderfully garish things: suits of armour, giant Chinese vases, rusty old swords and shields, enormous bronze statues, elaborately carved wooden thrones. It's exactly the sort of stuff that always attracts our attention, history geeks that we are, and so we wandered about the place for quite awhile, ooh-ing and ah-ing over all the cool junk.
It was only when we got to the back of the store that things started to turn from interesting to intriguing. There we found a dimly lit display case filled with a collection of the most remarkable little figurines, most no bigger in size than your average chess piece. They were netsukes, small decorative carvings that are common antique collectibles from Japan.
What really caught my attention about this particular collection was the fact that, tucked discreetly in amongst the beautifully carved dragons, geisha and samurai, were netsukes of a far more erotic sort. They were so delightfully pervy - plump, curvaceous women getting swived by generously proportioned old men in oni masks, all in a wild tangle of smooth ivory limbs and twisted kimonos.
You all know me well enough by now to know that I fell in love with them the instant I laid eyes on them.
They weren't terribly expensive and we hemmed and hawed over buying one, finally deciding that if we won some money in the casinos before we left for home, we would come back and get one.
The good news was that we did eventually win big in the casino at the Mirage, but unfortunately it was very late at night and, of course, the antique store was closed. Our plane left early the next morning, so we never did get the chance to run out and purchase a naughty netsuke or two.
We're considering a trip back to Vegas in the very near future and I can guarantee that I'm coming back home with shunga to show for it.
